About the Artist

Based in Saddleworth, Caroline McManus enjoys painting the breath-taking views of the beautiful Saddleworth Landscape. Using mainly oil paints working both plein air and in the studio, Caroline loves to capture light, colour and movement within her work. Before lockdown Caroline was experimenting using oil pastels and digital media for her swim study series. The speed of the swimmers coupled with the change in light has added to the challenge. Throughout lockdown Caroline has been focusing on painting her surroundings, using the limitations of this current situation to explore the familiar with fresh eyes.
