About the Artist

I first took up painting after I retired. For many years I attended a weekly class run by Val Mitchell at North Light Gallery, Huddersfield. A few years ago I was lucky enough to come across the clothed figure and landscape classes run by John McCombes and they are my main source of instruction and inspiration.

Originally I worked with acrylics but now most of my painting is with oils. Painting engages and challenges the body, feelings and intellect, not a bad way to enrich one’s retirement.
