About the Artist

Sean Edwards

I live in Manchester and enjoy painting outdoors in the city and surrounding areas. I attend John McCombs’ classes and have recently joined the Stockport Art Guild. I work mostly in oils and paint landscapes, figures and the occasional portrait.

In the studio (bedroom) I work from my plein air efforts: playing with compositions, sharpening shapes and experimenting with colours. I try to find subjects with some contrast and compliment between nature and the built environment. The juxtaposition of the old and new are a recurring theme for me: the living, moving world against the fading past.
