Steve Stringer

I seek first to unravel the essential meaning of the subject, then to get it down in paint. Using a combination of lines, forms, planes, tones and colours, I split the surface up into shapes, not more than twelve by painting a quick sketch, then to work out the design and then destroy this and start again, painting freely, thick and thin.
