About the Artist

Victor Buckley

I trained for a teaching qualification in Derby with Art as a main subject, eventually specialising in sculpture.

I am predominantly a sculptor, working in metal, plaster, glass fibre and wood.  My wall art often has a three dimensional element.

Ballet is a regular theme and is, for me, a very powerful art form.

In my local landscape am interested in the traces left by man in the landscape and the way that nature reclaims these abandoned features. I like dry stone walls and the way that they follow the landscape and often are incorporated into the rock formations.

I exhibited a piece at the Chelsea Music Festival  in 2016. I have exhibited in Rochdale and have a piece outside Springhill Hospice, where I volunteer helping with creative therapy. For a short period I had a gallery in the Wheatsheaf  Centre courtesy of East Street Arts.

I joined Saddleworth Group of Artists in 2024 after moving into the Oldham area.
